While the best prevention of corrosion is application of MX 237 prior to exposure to corrosive conditions. MX 237 is extremely useful in salvaging or freeing up pieces that are already corroded. Because it will not evaporate after application; MX 237 will continue to penetrate until the frozen adjoining surfaces are impregnated with oil to allow freeing up or dis-assembly. Rust, scale carbon, or corrosion cannot cling to metal surfaces after MX 237 has penetrated through.
